Moorland Centre, Lincoln

The project involved the demolition of an existing building and the redevelopment of the site to create a modern retail destination to enhance the park. The scheme delivers a new ALDI foodstore and a Starbucks drive-thru restaurant, complemented by high quality landscaping, parking facilities, and service infrastructure.

The completed development provides a high-quality retail environment designed to meet the operational requirements of the occupiers while delivering long-term durability and performance. The scheme enhances the local retail offering in Lincoln and supports future sustainability goals through integrated EV charging provision.

Site Preparation & Groundworks

Demolition of existing building and clearance of site
Historic infill material identified and Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA) from previous industrial use.
Specialist foundation solutions to address challenging ground conditions.

ALDI Unit

- 15m deep Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles with ground beams and suspended concrete slab.
- Uponor Quattro underfloor heating system beneath terazzo floor tiling.
- ALDI ‘Blade’ roof design with anthracite Kingspan KS1000RW composite roof panels and silver/anthracite KS1000MR wall panels.
- Thermally broken aluminium windows and secure Surelock McGill SL304 3-point panic hardware doorset.
- Internal fit-out by others.

Starbucks Drive-thru Unit

Constructed to EMEA Store Design 2020 specification (without green roof)
Siberian Larch timber cladding with Teknos coating to walls, soffits and facia areas
Equitone Linea cladding in LT60 Hessian colour to feature zones.
Rainscreen support systems, insulation boards, and breather membranes incorporated into wall build-up.
Surelock A1 high-security doorset.
Internal fit-out by others

External Works

Customer and staff car parking to ALDI’s specification.
Loading bay and service yard for ALDI store.
Installation of soakaway attenuation tank (255m x 2m x 1.08m, 547m³ gross volume)
Provision for future EV charging points.
