The project comprised of the strip out and renovation of a section of the existing school which was only being used for storage and was suffering from extensive water penetration via the roof and windows.
3 large classrooms, a new reception / entrance, new toilet suite and an office were formed within this previously under utilised area setting new standards of facilities for the school.
The works generally consisted of the following elements:
- Roof works – renewal of roof coverings to the working area
- Demolition and soft strip
- Floorslab and masonry wall alterations
- Formation of new partitions
- New mechanical and electrical systems
- New drainage
- New windows and external doors
- New internal doors and joinery works
- Decorations and new floor coverings
- The project was carried out within a live school so close co-ordination with other building users was paramount at all times
- Upon completion of the project the school classrooms were formally opened by HRH the Duke of Gloucester
