The project comprised the design and construction of 3 number 4 bedroomed treehouse style executive accommodation villas within the forest at Center Parcs – Sherwood holiday centre.
The external works included formation of a plantroom to accommodate the treehouses incoming services and plant systems, formation of dedicated parking bays and the formation of timber ramps / walkways to provide access to the units via 2 entry / exits.
The treehouses were constructed via a 2 storey timber frame built off a concrete transfer slab which was constructed on 7 number concrete columns positioning the units circa 3 metres above the forest floor.
Treehouse facades and roofs were then clad in timber shingles and shakes with timber window / doors(all to FSC certification) to ensure units blended in with the forest environment.
The main body of the treehouse contained 4 bedrooms all with ensuite facilities, large lounge area complete with a log burner sat within a feature chimney breast, kitchen, dining room, cloaks and WC. Externally sat on a decked area accessed via the lounge sliding doors is a private sauna and Jacuzzi facility along with a seating area, accessed from this area via a raised walkway is a separate games denhousing TV and music systems, pool table and bar facilities.
The units were fully fitted out including bespoke built in furniture to an extremely high standard with all designs and materials being vetted closely by leading interior designer – Target Living.
The units were designed to a high energy efficient standard and utilised sustainable systems, such as photo voltaic panels and ground source heat pumps.
