This project was a refurbishment scheme of an old Tradex Store, the works commenced beginning July 2015 and involved a large amount of demolition internally and the removal of the front and side façade and an old petrol station.
Jessops Construction then formed two retail units an Aldi Foodstore (22,800 sq ft) and a Home Bargins (24,600 sq ft). They also prepared a portion of the site to accommodate a McDonald’s Restaurant (4,098sq ft) unit.
The building shell works included the installation of a new loading bay and service ramp within the existing building that had to sit new piles, roof remedial works, composite cladding to the front and side elevation, new shopfronts and general repairs and decoration to the remaining elevations.
External works included the installation of attenuation tanks, remodelling of the existing carpark, car park lighting and street furniture.
The scheme was carried out on time and within budget.
