This design and build project was the conclusion of the sites upgrading plans to increase storage capacity, provide an up to date office and laboratory building and address health & safety / hygiene issues.
This project demanded a collaborative and flexible approach, but also needed to meet certain requirements for Defra as they part funded this scheme.
The team’s first objective was to remove a soil / subsoil bund (approximately 5,000m3), provide 2,500 tonnes of flat bed silo storage capacity, the concrete haul road and upgrading conveyor runs prior to harvest 2015.
After delivering the items for harvest 2015 the team went about delivering the remainder of the scheme.
This included a further 20,000 tonnes of flat bed silo storage capacity, 2,000 tonnes of hopper bin storage, an additional intake hopper, a 3,750ft2 two storey office and laboratory facility, a 250ft2 control room projecting out of an existing building at first floor level, a 800ft2 workshop, two new trash buildings and concrete infill between the existing silos.
The successful handover of this scheme clearly demonstrates Jessops Constructions commitment to build relationship with clients, to work within budgets and achieve programme.
